The recent Open Infrastructure Summit was a great event with people from all around the world participating, and discussing all things about open source infrastructure. StarlingX had a strong presence at the conference with active contributors attending in person, as well as having people who came to town just to learn more about the project.

Conference Sessions

Contributors and users gave presentations to talk about their StarlingX use cases as well as share details about the capabilities of the platform. These sessions were recorded and are already available on YouTube:

Forum

Forum sessions were interactive sessions to provide the space and opportunity for users and project contributors to get together and discuss feedback, priorities and next steps. The StarlingX community had a short session to learn about use cases that people have been considering StarlingX for.

Main discussion topics included:

 – Connectivity in rural areas

 – Industrial IoT and sensors

 – MSPs (Managed Services Providers)

Project Teams Gathering (PTG)

The PTG was a co-located event to the OpenInfra Summit. It focused on providing an opportunity for active contributors of OpenInfra projects and newcomers to discuss important topics, such as team priorities, roadmap, process improvements, onboarding and more, in person. Contributors and newcomers to the StarlingX project held a session to discuss current work items and challenges.

Main discussion topics included:

 – Project communication – Improve mailing list communication and discuss preferred chat tool options

 – Onboarding users and new contributors

 – Activities to move forward with implementing Arm support for StarlingX
